NINDOOINBAH WOOLSHED ART EXHIBITION

September 2012

The once-busy woolshed at Nindoooinbah, Kerry, will be the venue for a unique art exhibition on the first weekend in September.

Artists from the Scenic Rim, Brisbane and Victoria have been approached individually to take part in a unique two-day display of high quality works in the restored woolshed on the heritage listed Kerry property.

The exhibition should get off to a rousing start on Saturday evening, September 1, with a cocktail party, auction of quirky memorabilia and donated items, plus a young wind quartet providing music.

The following morning, organisers will hold a “high tea in the morning” for anyone wanting to view the art between 9 and 11am.  That will be followed by general admission from 11 a.m. until four, with barbecue lunch and bar available.

Local residents who wish to see the iconic Nindooinbah Woolshed may wish to attend any of the specific times – but are warned to book early for either the cocktail party or the high tea, as interest is expected to be high.

Ticket enquiries: ph 0437 787 262 or 0431 326 724.

The general admission on Sunday will be open to anyone who is interested – $10 per person. Visitors should note that only the woolshed (not the Nindooinbah house) will be open opver the weekend.

The art exhibition is a fundraiser for the Quarry Action Group, which is co-respondent with the Scenic Rim Regional Council in an appeal currently before the Planning and Environment Court.
