Wongari Eco Retreat

At Wongari we found an old cabin on a serene stretch of Christmas Creek, turned it into a nature retreat, and called our intimate and romantic accommodation 'Serenity'. We hope you will agree with us.

But, for balance, we built our 2nd cabin, Bimbul, to complement the original Serenity with openness and energy but one still anchored in the nature from which it arises.

2 Night                         Weekend

(includes a Friday and/or Saturday Night)

2 Night Midweek

1 Night –

$380 weekend - $280 midweek

Additional Night(s)

$200 deposit is required to secure booking

At Wongari we also built another cabin with features too numerous to count but the daybed bay window that frames the grove of hoop pines is a favourite to all. We called it 'Bimbul' because it sits in a grove of Hoop Pines. It looks down on Christmas Creek from a very generous deck(s) and a height that places it in the very canopies of Hoop Pines it looks upon. And there's more.....(a photo album).

Vouchers:   A Great Gift Idea

For romance or celebration or just a rewarding time; for relaxing, unwinding and absorbing the atmosphere of being in a forest and by a pristine creek, in a quite space in nature, a stay at Wongari is a thoughtful gift.

Serenity Gift Voucher is $490 for two weekend nights or three midweek nights. Alternatively, you can put any amount towards a stay for someone special.

All you have to do is contact us and we will organise for a voucher to be sent to you or directly to the other person it may concern.

Pets are family. Why shouldn't they come? But we do reserve the right to refuse an inappropriate animal and we do prefer them small and house trained. Please enquire.

However, based on past experience, we do request that the following be observed.

For our convenience entirely, could you please keep your pet off the linen and the furniture - especially if they tend to loose hair.

We provide two bowls for your pet: one for water, the other for food. But you are most welcome to bring your own. You will need to bring your own bedding as well.

Our showers aren't for washing pets (hair!). Nor should the towels provided be used to dry your dog. There are outside taps where you can wash and dry your pet.

Pets should not be left alone in the cabin.

We appreciate your co-operation in this matter as we are keen to continue to make our cabins welcoming to pets.

We supply:

  • King size bed can be made into two singles
  • Bath robes (for winter)
  • Goose down pillows
  • All linen and towels
  • bluetooth connected speaker for your own music device
  • Olive Oil, Balsamic Vineger, other kitchen spices
  • A range of herbal and other teas.
  • Toiletries by Corinne of Handmade Naturals
  • BBQ, indoor wood-fired bakers oven and fireplace; outdoor fire and microwave
  • Beautiful forest, pristine creek, wilderness, stars and silence

To secure your booking we require a $200 deposit to be paid within 48 hours of your request.

The balance should be paid prior to arrival unless you wish to bring cash and pay on arrival. Unfortunately, we can not offer credit card facilities at this time. If you are paying prior to arrival then payment is required by direct deposit one week before arrival.

Please Note:

Long weekends are a minimum 3 night booking.
Easter Weekend is a minimum 4 night booking.
There is a 2 night minimum stay in Serenity.

Cancellation Policy

If for some reason you need to cancel your stay and we can't re-book another suitable occasion then we reserve the right to keep your payment, either in part or in whole, depending upon the circumstances of the cancellation and the amount of notice provided.
